OCEANS '12 MTS/IEEE Hampton Roads:  Call for Student Posters

The Student Poster Competition has been a long standing part of the OCEANS Conferences. Its purpose is to:

  • Foster and promote Student involvement in Technical Conferences.
  • Provide a forum at technical conferences for students to interact on a one-on-one basis with conference attendees.
  • Provide contacts for future employment opportunities.

All full-time undergraduate or postgraduate engineering or science students enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university or engineering school can enter the OCEANS Student Poster Competition. To enter, each student must submit a 500 – 800 word abstract, describing the work, status, and results of a project.

To submit a Student Poster Abstract go to the Abstract Submission Form. Student poster submissions require a two-page abstract of 700 words. Be sure to put a check in the space "Check this box if this is a Student Poster Abstract".

Those students accepted for the Student Poster Program will receive:

  • Complimentary full conference registration.
  • A travel allowance.
  • Inclusion of the paper describing the work in the Conference Proceedings and in the IEEE Xplore digital library.

The authors selected to participate in the Poster Program will be notified and sent further instructions.  They will need to submit:

  • A brief biographical sketch.
  • An endorsement by their faculty advisor or dean.
  • Verification of full time student status.
  • A paper describing the work covered by the poster for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings.
  • Please submit as a Student Poster Submission.

The selected posters will be on display throughout the Conference. The posters will be judged and awards presented at the Conference.
